Fall Means Chauffeur Time

It is that time of year again – dad and mom chauffeur time. Patrick is working on his swimmers bronze cross and drivers ed in addition to working part-time at Chicken Chef and the library. Stewart has piano, air cadets, cross country and swimming lessons. With one vehicle to shuffle everyone around things can get a little hectic but we are managing so far. We are currently driving a 2000 Ford Explorer. It has generally been a good vehicle. Living in the country and with Wanda’s job as a rural field interviewer we need a larger vehicle with four wheel drive. The mileage isn’t great annually averaging 14.5 L/100km (16.0 L/100km winter and 13.0 L/100 km summer) but it is the not that much more than our previous minivan which got around 12.0 L/100km. With Patrick driving soon we’ll likely be looking for a second vehicle – likely something more fuel efficient.
